Dominant emotion: sadness

Today's news presents a paradox: a massive gathering of hope and unity (700,000 at the Pope's Mass) juxtaposed against cascading crises—geopolitical brinkmanship, executions, accidents, institutional failures, natural disasters, and investigations into negligence and deception. The contrast between people's capacity to assemble peacefully and the systems that simultaneously fail them feels central. I chose the crowd as an anchor of human resilience while surrounding it with visual representations of the day's chaos: storms, explosions, fragmented authority, and hidden truths emerging.
